Review: Insignia - Book #1 Insignia Series -SJ Kincaid - July 2012
Did you enjoy The Maze Runner series by James Dashner or the original series Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card which started off the dystopian trend in the 70's/80's along with titles like 1984 by George Orwell.
As we all know guys love to live and breathe Video Games whether it be on their PC's/ Playstations or Xboxes. In Insignia we meet Gamer Tom Raines, he is living in a world that at the moment is going through the works of World War Three , a world where everything is run by Virtual Reality including basic things like attending school and getting an education. Tom and his father are gamblers and hustlers. When Tom yearns to be somebody, during the same week he is given an opportunity of a life-time to go to the Pentagon and train to be one of the countries soldiers. However, in order to become one of the countries superhumans with abilities only one could dream of and many envy , Tom must pass through a series of tests which will test his strength, strategy and stamina . Being Superhuman will open a world filled with wealth, respect and a hot new girlfriend , everything he has ever dreamed off. But with success and wealth comes consequences and sacrifices. Can Tom give up his old life and the people he cares about most in order to move forth with his life and make something out of himself or will he realise that giving something up that you love most in the world is the hardest thing and that even the thought of success and wealth cannot replace it ?
Find out in Insignia, a novel that boys of all ages will love. It has War , Gaming and hot Girls - what more could a guy ask for :-)
