Job xxviii. 28. And unto Man he faid, Behold the Fear of the Lord; that is Wisdom; and to depart from Evil is Understanding.

Prov. xix. 8. He that getteth Wisdom lovethhis own Soul: He that keepeth Understanding fhall find good..

Pfalm cxi. 10. The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Wisdom: A good Understanding have all they that do his Commandments: His Praise endureth for ever.

Ecclefiaftic. i. 26, 27. If thou defire Wifdom keep the Commandments, and the Lord fhall give her unto thee; for the Fear of the Lord is Wifdom, and Inftruction, and Faith, and Meeknefs, are his Delight.

Pfalm xxxiv. 9, 10. O fear the Lord, all ye his Saints for there is no want to them that fear him. The young Lions do lack and fuffer Hunger; but they that feek the Lord fhall not want any gooď thing.

Pfalm lxxxiv. 11. For the Lord God is a Sun and Shield The Lord will give Grace, and Glory : No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

1 Chron. xxviii. 9. And thou, Solomon my Son, know thou the God of thy Father, and ferve him with a perfect Heart, and with a willing Mind: For the Lord fearcheth all Hearts, and understand, eth all the Imaginations of the Thoughts: If thou feek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forfake him, he will caft thee off for ever.

Ephefians vi. 1, 2. Children obey your Parents

in the Lord: For this is right. Honour thy Father and Mother (which is the firft Commandment with Promise) that it may be well with thee, and thou mayeft live long on the Earth.

Matth. v. 14. For God commanded, faying, Honour thy Father and thy Mother: And he that curfeth Father or Mother, let him die the Death.

Exod. xx. 12. Honour thy Father and thy Mother, that thy Days may be long in the Land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Levit. xix. 3. Ye fhall fear every Man his Mother and his Father, and keep my Sabbaths: I am the Lord your God.

Deut. v. 16. Honour thy Father and thy Mother, as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee;

that

that thy Days may be prolonged, and that it may well with thee in the Land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Ecclefiaftic. iii. 3,-10. Whofo honcureth his Father, maketh an Attonement for his Sins; and he that honoureth his Mother, is as one that layeth up Treasure. Whofo honoureth his Father, fhall have Joy of his own Children; and when he maketh his Prayer, he fhall be heard. He that honoureth his Father, fhall have long Life; and he that is obedient unto the Lord, will be a Comfort to his Mother. He that feareth the Lord, will honour his Father, and will do fervice to his Parents as to his Masters. Honour thy Father and Mother both in Word and Deed, that a Bleffing may come upon thee from them: For the Bleffing of the Fathers eftablifheth the Houfes of the Children; but the Curfe of the Mother rooteth out Foundations.

Prov. xxx. 17. The Eye that mocketh at his Father, and defpifeth to obey his Mother, the Ravens of the Valley fhall pick it out, and the young Eagles fhall eat it..

It's Children's Duty Parents to obey, [Stay ::
Who in their Childood were their strength and
In all their Days is feen paternal Care;
Who to provide for them do never fpare.
All honour to them let us always give,
And ne'er be difobedient while we live..

Rov. xvii. 27. He that hath Knowledge fpareth his Words; and a Man of Understanding is of an excellent Spirit.

James i. 19. 26. Wherefore, my beloved Brethren, let every Man be fwift to hear, flow to fpeak. If any Man among you feem to he religious, and bridleth not his Tongue, but decelveth his own Heart, this Man's Religion is vain.

Ecclefiaft v. 2. Be not rafh with thy Mouth, and let not thine Heart be hafty to utter any thing before God; for God is in Heaven, and thou upon Earth, therefore let thy Words be few.

Prov. xv. 2. The Tongue of the Wife ufeth Knowledge aright, but the Mouth of Fools pour eth out Foolishness.

Ecclefiaftic. xx. 7. 8, A wife Man will hold his Tongue 'till he fee Opportunity; but a Babler and and a Fool will regard no Time. He that ufeth many Words fhall be abhorred, and he that taketh. to himself Authority therein fhall be hated?

Prov. x. 29. In the Multitude of Words there wanteth not Sin: But he that refraineth his Lips is. wife. The Tongue of the Juft is as choice Silver : The Heart of the Wicked, is little worth. Wile Men lay up Knowledge: But the Mouth of the Foolish is near Deftruction.

Prov. xv, 4. A wholfome Tongue is a Tree. of Life: but Perverseness therein is a Breach in the Spirit.

Prou. xviii. 21. Death and Life are in the Power of the Tongue; and they that love it, shall eat the Fruit thereof.
