About the author (2009)

Alan was a teacher and assistant school principal for 25 years before becoming a full-time writer. He is a prolific non-fiction author with currently over 35 published books. He writes primarily on matters pertaining to the history of Rugby League, including titles The Encyclopaedia of Rugby League Players: A History of Rugby League Clubs (with Ian Collis), and 100 Years of Rugby League. He has also published works on subjects as diverse as the Wanda Beach Murders and an adaptation of Homer's Iliad. His many other titles include Jimmy Barnes: Say it Loud: 12 Crimes That Shocked a Nation: Another 12 Crimes That Shocked a Nation: Speeches That Shaped the Modern World: Speeches the Reshaped the World and Australian Psycho: Derek Percy.
