AND

DISCIPLINE

OF THE

Methodist Church of Canada.

1878.

Edited by the REV. JOHN A. WILLIAMS, D.D., by Order
of the General Conference.

TORONTO:

SAMUEL ROSE, 80 KING STREET EAST.

HALIFAX:

A. W. NICOLSON, 125 GRANVILLE STREET

Δ

Moved by the REV. DR. PICKARD, and seconded by the REV. DR. RICE,

"That the Secretary of the Committee on Discipline, the REV. DR. WILLIAMS, be and is hereby authorized to edit the new issue of the Discipline of the Church; and that power is hereby given to correct all typographical and orthographical errors, and, for the sake of clearness, to re-arrange paragraphs when necessary."Journal of General Conference, 1878, page 127.

EDITORIAL NOTE.

THE General Conference having authorized the rearranging of paragraphs, for the sake of clearness, the Editor has taken the liberty of re-casting the whole; and in place of the form of question and answer, which has been in existence for many years, he, has ventured to number the paragraphs, which, it is hoped, will be accepted as an improvement.

While this liberty has been taken, the Editor has conscientiously adhered to the spirit and intent of what he found written, so that the variations in the reading are very few.

The Index has been made as copious as it seemed possible to make it, and will be found to be of service to those who are called to administer discipline in the Church.
