COMPOUND TENSES.

ΤΗ

[ocr errors]

HE Compound Tenfes of this and other Verbs, are formed as in English and French, that is, by bringing the Tenfes of the Auxiliary Verb Havare to have, to the Participle Common of other Verbs, as is before obferved in this Grammar, Page 39, and in my Rules for the French Tongue. Example,

Prefent

Ho amato

I have loved, &c. Imperfect Havevo amato I had loved, &c. Haverò amato Ifhall, or will have loved.

Future

And the like, in other Compound Tenfes, formed of this Verbs Havere, and the Participle Paffive or Common.

The Verbs in are, are all conjugated alike, except four, that is, andare, dare, fare, ftare, of which hereafter.

Note alfo, That the Auxiliary Verb Hà I have, forms the Compound Tenfes of the Active Voice, and Sone I am, with the Participle Common, forms the Paffive Voice of Verbs.
