User Review - Flag as inappropriateRead this book. It tells the story of how the professionalism of so many and the reputation of a nation can be undermined by officials who prefer to believe in simple truths (that are neither). What happens when courageous people who speak truth to power are not listened to.
User Review - Flag as inappropriateVery insightful book. I can only hope that people will understand the underlying message that EITs are not the most effective interrogation technique. His due diligence as it applies to those he interrogates should be standard procedure for any investigation or government branch. Too many people in positions of authority simply do not understand that cultures and belief systems are different around the world, and if you are not open to this you will never understand. Readers should pay particular attention to his comments on linear thought, and the role that respect plays in their lives. This is good stuff that applies far beyond al Qaeda.

User Review - GoodreadsHow can one not enjoy a book with stuff redacted by the government. Great chapter on torture and how our own agencies failed us. Kinda an opposite of Charlie Wilson's War.

User Review - James - GoodreadsVery informative and very aggravating at the same time. Everyone who is interested in the battle against terrorism should read this book and be aware of the many failings, particularly by the CIA. It will also have a major impact on how you view the use of torture to get intelligence information. Read full review
